This cute little heart shaped Ladybug Craft for Valentine’s Day Wooden Crafts is a great project for preschoolers and elementary school kids. It helps develop paper folding, cutting, gluing, and coloring skills, and is a great addition to a Valentine’s Day or insect lesson. It also looks adorable on the fridge!
Here’s what you’ll need for this Ladybug Craft for Valentine’s Day:
Large foam heart (you can also use a construction paper heart)
White and pink paper
Large circle punch (scissors can be used instead)
Glue the large circle to the tip of the heart to make your ladybug’s face.
Cut several small circles from your pink paper for your ladybug’s spots, and set them aside for now.
Draw a “V” where the ladybug wings separate and fill that in with black marker. The heart is now starting to look like a ladybug body. Now draw in some antennae. You can make them curly, straight, or wavy, so be creative!
Now glue on your pink spots, and set the ladybug to the side while we work on making the legs.
Take a half of a sheet of paper and fold it up accordion style.
These are going to be our ladybug’s legs.
Take your ladybug and flip it over to the back. Glue on the legs, and trim them to the length you’d like.
You’re all finished – I hope you enjoy doing this project!
